Professional Profile Portfolios

After many years of visiting Fota House and Gardens, I finally got to take photographs inside the house itself.

It was set up for a session to take a series of profile images for musician Sophie Creaner.  Sophie needs a range of images to provide to media and organisers of concerts to promote herself and concerts in which she’s playing.

So rather than setting up a shoot just for a particular concert, we shot a range of images with different styles and settings so she has something for every occassion.  We included headshots and I’ll end up delivering versions in black and white and panaoramic crops so that she has a lot of choice.

It was a great location for portraits and as usual Sophie was a pleasure to work with.

A Portfolio Session like this is a very cost-effective way of generating a stock of professional images for on-going promotional work.  Don’t leave it until you’re being asked by press or PR for an image for a deadline tomorrow: take the time to plan the setting and layout of your images to present yourself in the way your clients will react best to.

Hard at it

Still lots going on here at Rob Lamb Photography. Media-savy followers may have noticed that I started a regular gig with the Cork News in October with is keeping me busy meeting a lot of interesting personalities and local businesses throughout the city on a weekly basis.

It’s not all pounding the streets for a scoop, photo calls, press deadlines and the smell of hot presses (that’s printing presses, not storage for your towels).

Cork News list a number of the city’s finest restaurants amongst their clients. Normally most food isn’t that disgestable by the time you’ve finished photographing it but if the chef is kind and you work quickly enough, life can be good…

Taken to the Bank

We’re just back from setting up a stand at the Bank.  Earlier this year AIB invited us to put up a promotional stand at 66, South Mall.

We spent most of last week running around organising a few things and we’re pleased to say that it went up this morning.

On the table is a special promotional voucher for a free 8×12 print with every session booked between now and Christmas.  There are more details on the promotions page.

I’d like the chance to thank Print XPress on Tramore Road and DMOS for pulling out the stops to get things to me in time for the stand to go up this week.  I really meant to allow two weeks to get this thing organised between the jigs and the reels it all happened last week!

So if you’re in town, why not pop in and take a look!
